‘Sustainable Joinery’ is one of the first to combine high quality with environmental and social aspects. The certification takes into account the entire life cycle of the joinery. That includes the raw material used, the production conditions, the suppliers, the use of the finished product, and recycling or reuse. The assessment of all those stages of the life cycle is done using a points system and clearly defined criteria.
The point system with criteria ensures greater transparency and comparability within the industry. It becomes possible for joinery manufacturers to distinguish their products from those of their competitors. Thus, each link in the chain is encouraged to make its product sustainable and the entire sector is raised to a higher level.
